From their earliest interest in the industry to their proudest moments, you’ll learn how these women got their start, who influenced them the most, and how they are helping change the face of the industry in positive ways. Check back next week as we add another Featured Female Leader to the series.
Featured Female Leader: Julie Pizzorni – Regional Business Development Manager, Central Region
“Find a mentor and align yourself with a leader who can coach and guide you professionally.”
Julie Pizzorni has worked in the automotive industry for 22 years and currently serves as a Regional Business Development Manager in the Central region. Everyday Julie works to improve sales and service processes and performance for stores in the Central Region. She primarily focuses on process improvement, activity management, people development and finding best practices to increase productivity while providing an exceptional customer experience at all touch points.
Additionally, she coordinates digital marketing efforts between the dealerships and advertising agencies. Julie says the most satisfying part of her job is developing people and finding ways to grow the business through individual performance. “Helping people thrive and develop is really what my job is all about and why it is so rewarding.” Going from working in a single store to being involved in managing stores on a regional level has been one of her proudest achievements. Julie does not hesitate when asked who has had the biggest influence on her career. “My late father who taught me to lead by example with relentless work ethic. His advice was to stay relevant and never rest on your laurels.” Julie advises young women considering a career in the automotive industry to “find a mentor and align yourself with a leader who can coach and guide you professionally.”
Julie offered her view on how the automotive industry landscape has changed and evolved to engage more women. “For most of my career, I was the only female manager and sometimes not taken seriously by management. However, I feel it is much different now. There are endless opportunities now for women in the automotive industry. At Penske, women have a seat at the table. It is no longer the “good old boys club.” In our organization, women are treated with respect and have a voice.” Julie is excited and optimistic about her future in automotive. “I love my career and look forward to continued growth. At Penske Automotive Group, the sky’s the limit!”
