Roger Penske Chairman, CEO and President of Penske Corporation was invited to speak at The National Middle Market Summit 2011 on Friday, October 7th, 2011 at Fisher College of Business at  Ohio State University. The event was sponsored by GE Capitol and the Fisher College school of Business in attempt to outline and define a large segment of the economy that is a driver of future growth, like Penske Corporation. These companies are responsible for more than a third of America’s GDP and 41M jobs.

Roger made an appearance at CNBC TV “Street Signs” program with Brian Sullivan to highlight on the middle market, also known as the powerful engine of growth and innovation. Because many marketers and researchers have a difficult time defining the middle market, CNBC wanted to take a deeper look into the powerhouse corporations, as it accounts for revenue of $10M to $1Billion, and 369,112 companies (according to 2007 Census Data.) Roger stated that the Penske Auto Corporation successes serve as leading indicators for determining the industry standards. “We are positive and are looking for a double-digit increase in automotive sales in 2012,” Said Roger.

There are always a lot of interesting things going on at The Fisher College of Business and The Ohio State University. On October 6, the Fisher College of Business and GE Capital are sponsoring a major conference on Ohio State’s campus. The National Middle Market Summit is bringing together some of the best minds in business to discuss ways to nurture “middle market” companies – smaller than large conglomerates but bigger than small companies, this is an area of business that has not been actively researched before. This conference will help to start that dialogue.

Message from Dean Christine Poon of The Fisher College of Business:

Roger Penske, Chairman, CEO and President of Penske Corporation, will be participating in The National Middle Market Summit on campus this afternoon. Specifically, he will have a keynote moderated by Joe Nocera of The New York Times. Later, Rodger will make an appearance at CNBC TV Street Signs program with Brian Sullivan, promptly at 2 p.m.

If you are unable to attend in person, you can register to view the proceedings online. Click below for the personal invitation from Fisher’s Dean Christine Poon.
