Fort Worth, Texas (April 13, 2012) – Sam Hornish, Jr., driver of the No. 12 WURTH Dodge Challenger, qualified 14th for Friday evening’s O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 at Texas Motor Speedway.
Hornish turned a lap of 30.383 seconds around the high-banked one-and-a-half-mile track at an average speed of 177.731 miles per hour. Penske Racing teammate, Brad Keselowski qualified 13th in the No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge.
“We were a bit surprised with how much rubber was on the track which made our Wurth Dodge very loose,” said Hornish. “We know what we have to do to tighten the car up for the race though so we will be alright. This is going to be great event under the lights and the track should change quite a bit over the course of the race so we will do our best to make sure our Wurth Dodge is strong at the end.”
The O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 coverage will begin at 8:00 p.m. ET on ESPN2 on Friday, April 13. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 90.
