Grand Prize Winners, Chris and Lauren Peterson Win MINI Countryman Driving Experience Sweepstakes

7.25.11 mini (5)

Grand Prize winners, Chris and Lauren Peterson of Rockville, Maryland took ownership of their new prize possession, a 2011 MINI Countryman just recently. The Mini was donated by Mini of Warwick (http://www.miniofwarwick.com/). This couple living in the suburbs of Washington DC is very excited about their new urban friendly and easy-to-maneuver car. Leading up to the car key handover Lauren said about her husband, “believe me, you guys didn’t just make his day, you made his year with this car.  He’s already saying we’re buying it come next year.”

PenskeCars.com has always been known for being the go-to destination for your next car or truck. With a unique inventory of over 40 brands and more than 25,000 new and used vehicles, convenient and friendly search tools customers know this site is a resource they can’t live without.  Once again PenskeCars.com has exceeded customer’s expectations.

As you may remember this spring Penske ran a promotion for all you car lovers in the house! Those who entered into the contest were eligible for a chance to win a 2011 Mini Countryman lease for a year valued at about $7,500! Runners up in the content receive Apple iPads.

The Countryman which debuted in January 2011 is biggest Mini to date measures 161.3 inches from bumper to bumper. It’s significantly taller too, with a height of 61.5 in. versus the standard Mini’s 55.4. And while this longer, taller, wider version is substantial in Mini terms the Countryman has retained the sport styling and driving performance we expect of all Coopers.

The biggest news? The Countryman is the first Mini to offer all-wheel-drive—called “ALL4” in Mini speak. Under the hood of the Cooper Countryman is a 1.6 liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 121 bhp at 6000 rpm and has 114 lb.-ft. of torque at 4250 rpm, good for a claimed 0-60 time of 9.8 seconds. The Cooper S Countryman comes with the turbocharged 1.6-liter direct-injected engine that produces 1

81 bhp at 5500 rpm and 177 lb.-ft. of torque from 1600-5000 rpm. The claimed 0-60 time of the S is almost three seconds quicker than the standard Countryman, at 7.0 sec. And in full-throttle overboost conditions, this engine delivers 192 lb.-ft. of torque at 1700-4500 rpm.

Chris and Lauren can’t believe their luck, winning the Grand Prize out of hundreds of applicants. When the car was delivered to them they couldn’t stop gushing about their eye catching yellow dream car. Lauren says of Chris, “my husband is having a blast driving it; I’m pretty sure he drives it more than I do. The car’s great, and we really do love it. ” They have been turning heads all of Maryland and making all their friends, family and co-workers very jealous.
